New York became the sixth and largest state to legalize same-sex marriage after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill into law late Friday night. Gay weddings will begin in 30 days.
The state Senate voted late Friday in favor of a gay marriage bill, which was backed by four Republicans and 29 Democrats in the GOP-controlled Senate. The Democratic-controlled Assembly, which had approved an earlier version, passed the Senate’s stronger religious exemptions in the measure Friday.

“We are leaders and we join other proud states that recognize our families and the battle will now go on in other states,” said Sen. Thomas Duane, a Democrat.
Gay rights advocates are hoping the vote will galvanize the movement around the United States and help it regain momentum after an almost identical bill was defeated here in 2009 and similar measures failed in 2010 in New Jersey and this year in Maryland and Rhode Island.

Sodom (Hebrew: {סְדוֹם}, Modern Sədom Tiberian Səḏôm, Greek Σόδομα Sódoma) and Gomorrah (Hebrew: {עֲמוֹרָה}, Modern ʿAmora Tiberian Ġəmôrāh/ʿĂmôrāh, Greek Γόμοῤῥα Gómorrha) are cities mentioned in the Book of Genesis and later expounded upon throughout the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament and Deuterocanonical sources.
According to the Torah, the kingdoms of Sodom and Gomorrah were allied with the cities of Admah, Zeboim and Bela. These five cities, also known as the “cities of the plain,” were situated on the Jordan river plain in the southern region of the land of Canaan. The Jordan river plain has been compared to that of the garden of Eden,[Gen.10:13] being a land well-watered and green, suitable for grazing livestock. Divine judgment by Yahweh was then passed upon Sodom and Gomorrah along with two other neighboring cities that were completely consumed by fire and brimstone. Neighboring Zoar was the only city to be spared during that day of judgment.[Deut.29:23][Gen.10:19]
In Christian and Islamic traditions, Sodom and Gomorrah have become synonymous with impenitent sin, and their fall with a proverbial manifestation of God’s wrath.[Jude 1:7][1] Sodom and Gomorrah have also been used as metaphors for vice and homosexuality viewed as a deviation. The story has therefore given rise to words in several languages, including the English word “sodomy“, used in so-called sodomy laws to describe sexual acts deemed unnatural.[2]

There was a time when serving in our Armed Forces meant a person who was found to be a Homosexual was immediately Discharged under section 8 with less than an Honorable Discharge. The United States Military has never been nor will it ever be the place where people who choose a deviant lifestyle should serve. The strict code of Discipline and Morale forbids the undisciplined from participation in life and death Missions and everyday life on our Military Bases, Ships and Aircraft. Close living quarters and open showers are not conducive for our Military Personal along side of those who have little or no self-control over their own sexuality. This is a recipe for disaster in our Military and I dare say we will see many Straight men and women in our Military choosing to leave the service of our Country.
What on Earth is happening to this once Great Country of ours?
So there you have it, once again we see the few ruling over the many as happens in so many issues of American Life today.
