‘Coddler-in-Chief’: Fiery Rep. West Rips Obama and His Lack of Leadership

Speaking at a Miami-Dade GOP Lincoln Day dinner on Saturday, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) accused President Barack Obama of refusing to stand up to two-bit, third world despots, including Fidel Castro, Castro’s “BFF” (“best friend forever”) Venezuela President Hugo Chavez, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

“This is a dangerous world in which we are living. The threat in China as a rising superpower, Iran draws even closer to developing nuclear capabilities, and we are sitting around acting like Sir Neville Chamberlain in the 1930s, waving a piece of paper believing that there will be ‘peace in our time,’” said a fired-up Rep. West, referring to the famously incompetent and ineffective British Prime Minister partly responsible for Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.

“There is unrest in all major cities across Europe, across Asia, across the entire world. And the reason why that is happening is because America is devoid of committed, resilient, strong leadership,” he added.

“Just think about 90 miles from where we are sitting tonight. There’s an island, a state sponsor of terrorism. It currently holds one of our own American sons hostage, and even the Coddler-In-Chief feels it necessary to appease and provide concessions to the regime of the Castros.”

“Let us not forget Castro’s ‘BFF,’” the congressman said to laughter, “Hugo Chavez, who builds alliances across the ocean with Iranian despots who have one single goal: To destabilize democracies throughout Latin America. And we also know there are countless amounts of missiles sites being placed in Venezuela with the support of Iran — missile sites that threaten exactly where we’re sitting here today!”

“And what do we see from our president? Well, he’s probably right now just recovering from his latest round of golf,” Rep. West added.

ANY QUESTIONS ?

I wrote about this in May of 2011 and found that shortly after all news reports on this Missile Crisis had been scrubbed from Public View. Hmmm

  1. Good Morning America. I reported on these missile sites months ago and then all my sources of information on it vanished. Imagine that?

  5. EU Oil Embargo Pains Iran, But Is It Enough?

    By Ryan Mauro
    WorldThreats.com

The European Union’s embargo on Iranian oil went into effect on Sunday, July 1. Other countries cut back their imports. The regime admits it’s feeling the sting but is boisterously defiant. These sanctions are the toughest yet but they will only succeed in stopping Iran’s nuclear program if the regime’s very existence is threatened. The key question now is whether it is too late for sanctions to work.

Iran feels pinch of new EU oil sanctions

The pain caused by these sanctions should not be dismissed. Estimates vary as to how much of the regime’s revenue comes from oil exports, with some saying its 50% and others putting it as high as 85%. No matter what the truth is, the Iranian economy was a shambles before these sanctions began. In 2010, the regime had to cut funding to Hezbollah by about 40% because of financial restraints. Plus, rising domestic consumption takes away from Iran’s oil exports more and more each year. Some studies forecast that Iran would have to cease all oil exports in order to accommodate its own oil needs by 2015.

Iran’s exports began collapsing immediately after the U.S. began planning sanctions on foreign companies involved in the regime’s oil trade. The regime is suffering from a 40% decline in oil exports already. Iran has already lost at least $10 billion as its output is at its lowest level in 20 years. Inflation is above 20% and the Iranian people are, unfortunately, under tremendous stress. “Little by little, even fruit is becoming a luxury,” said one shopkeeper in Tehran. The Obama Administration is being criticized for issuing exemptions from sanctions to Iran’s top 20 oil buyers. However, in fairness, the “stick” of possible sanctions and “carrot” of possible exemptions forced these countries to reduce their purchases.

Japan received an exemption for cutting back its Iranian oil imports by 15-22%. Singapore, which only gets about 1% of its oil from Iran, was exempted but its imports are on a “very sharp downward trend.” Turkey’s state-owned oil company, Tupras, reduced imports in May by 20%. The remaining buyers of Iranian oil are likely to sense this dependency and, with the strong hand at the negotiating table, demand price cuts.

This approach was less successful with China, India and South Korea. China, for example, cut its oil imports from Iran by about 50% earlier this year over a dispute over prices. Its level of imports has gone back to normal in the past three months. The six-month exemption means that China will be buying about 500,000 barrels of oil from Iran every single day until then. India only cut its imports by 11%. South Korea originally said it would end all imports of Iranian oil on July 1 because it couldn’t get insurance for its tankers. Iran is offering to use its own tankers to transport the supply and South Korea is considering it.

There are other loopholes in the sanctions. For example, Genesis Assets Managers, which invests in a company with a portfolio entirely based on business with Iran, has escaped punishment. The Iranian Bonyads pose a bigger problem, as the Money Jihad blog explains. These are tax-exempt charities partially owned by the regime that are under the direct supervision of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. They control 20-40% of Iran’s entire GDP but are off-limits from sanctions because of their charitable work. There is no transparency and donations made to them, either in the form of goods or in cash, sustain the regime and could be easily diverted to paying its security services, sponsoring terrorism or its WMD programs.

Iran is trying to display strength. It boasts that it has $150 billion in foreign reserves and is earning revenue from increased exports of electricity to Turkey and Iraq. The Tehran Times reports that the price of oil rose 9% because of the embargo, but the India Times says oil prices actually dropped on July 2.

One concern is how Iran will react to the embargo. The regime needs major oil revenue. If it must sell less, then it needs to get a higher price per barrel. Iran must also hope that higher oil prices will pressure countries to reverse course and increase their imports again. One way to do this is through conflict. A terrorist strike on Saudi oil fields, for example, would accomplish this. The Saudis and the United Arab Emirates paved the way for the sanctions by increasing their output and Iran clearly threatened them in return.

The Iranians should be expected to strike at the Arab countries and perhaps even in the West. The Iranian parliament is now discussing legislation authorizing the regime to intercept any oil tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz from a country taking part in the sanctions. The Saudis have prepared for this scenario by reviving an old pipeline so they can sell oil through the Red Sea if necessary.

Confrontation is on the way, not only because it is in the regime’s nature, but because it needs it.

Iraq Poised to Be Oil Giant and an Economic Power, Reports New York Times: Consistent with Bible Prophecy?

    By Joel C. Rosenberg
    JoelRosenberg.com

In April, I noted on this blog the nation we know today as the Republic of Iraq—known variously in Scripture as Babel, Babylon, Babylonia, Mesopotamia and Shinar—will emerge as the global center of wealth, power and terrible evil in the End Times, according to Bible prophecy.

In Revelation 18, for example, we learn that Babylon will rise to become the most wealthy place on the face of the planet, and develop into an existential threat to Israel and the Jewish people, and then face divine judgment during the Tribulation. Many cynics and critics over the years have dismissed such Bible prophecies. But those who are wise should be watching for Iraq to: 1) begin rebuilding its offensive military capability; 2) begin rebuilding its economy; 3) continue rebuilding the actual ancient city of Babylon. As I explained in April, all three of these trends are actually currently underway.

    Iraq—Global Economic Superpower?

Now a fascinating story in the New York Times provides fresh evidence that Iraq is poised for explosive economic growth. The article indicates that:
    1.Iraqi oil production has surged from less than 2 million barrels a day in 2003-2004 to nearly 2.5 million barrels a day;
    2.Next year, Iraqi officials believe they will be producing nearly 3 million barrels of oil per day;
3.In the next five years—by 2017—Iraqi officials project they will be producing upwards of 10 million barrels of oil a day, which if true would put Babylon on par with Saudi Arabia as one of the world’s oil giants.

In a world of high and rising oil prices, this means Iraq could actually become a global economic superpower by the end of the decade, which would be stunningly consistent with Bible prophecy. These are trends worth watching.

    Excerpts from the Times story:

“Despite sectarian bombings and political gridlock, Iraq’s crude oil production is soaring, providing a singular bright spot for the nation’s future and relief for global oil markets as the West tightens sanctions on Iranian exports.

The increased flow and vital port improvements have produced a 20 percent jump in exports this year to nearly 2.5 million barrels of oil a day, making Iraq one of the premier producers in OPEC for the first time in decades.

Energy analysts say that the Iraqi boom—coupled with increased production in Saudi Arabia and the near total recovery of Libya’s oil industry—should cushion oil markets from price spikes and give the international community additional leverage over Iran when new sanctions take effect in July.

’Iraq helps enormously,’ said David L. Goldwyn, the former State Department coordinator for international energy affairs in the Obama administration. Even if Iraq increased its oil exports by only half of what it is projecting by next year, he said, ‘You would be replacing nearly half of the future Iranian supply potentially displaced by tighter sanctions.’

For Iraq, the resurgence of oil, which it is already pumping at rates seen only once—and briefly—since Saddam Hussein took power in 1979, is vital to its postwar success. Oil provides more than 95 percent of the government’s revenues, has enabled the building of roads and the expansion of social services, and has greatly strengthened the Shiite-led government’s hand in this ethnically divided country.

Oil has also brought its share of pitfalls for the fledgling democracy, fostering corruption and patronage, and aggravating tensions with the Kurdish minority in the north over the division of profits, a festering issue that could end up fracturing the country.

The Iraqi government says it can add an additional 400,000 barrels a day of production by next year, and it has announced a goal of producing 10 million barrels a day by 2017, which would put it in a league with Saudi Arabia….”

  7. Hope this helps guys! I wish you’d come to my site and help me out with this guy who is some weird religion who is arguing me on the Trinity. … it’s on my Chrislam article page http://lynleahz.com/2012/06/27/attention-the-emergence-of-the-one-world-religion-is-here/ He calls himself christadelphians, some weird religion or something like that…also, I got this news I posted here http://www.bibleprophecyblog.com/

  8. Hey you’re quiet today. Any good debates going on? Or are you worn out from the fourth of July yesterday? Oh, I had men from the power company in my backyard at 1:30-2 a.m. with chain saws because some person decided to set fireworks off by the transformer.it was actually in my neighbors yard behind me..but it was loud..they were chain sawing the heck out of trees and bushes (that provided privacy for me in my pool…ugggh!) for about 20 minutes. It was awful!
