Could Ron Paul Surprise US All?

Gingrich Surges to The Lead in Iowa Poll

DES MOINES, Iowa –  Newt Gingrich has taken the lead in a poll of Republican voters in Iowa, followed by Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.

Former House Speaker Gingrich received support from 25 percent of likely voters in the leadoff Iowa caucus, while Texas congressman Paul had 18 percent and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney had 16 percent in the Des Moines Register‘s Iowa Poll released Saturday.

Gingrich’s support stood at just 7 percent in the most recent Iowa Poll, conducted in late October. Businessman Herman Cain, who suspended his campaign today amid claims of sexual misconduct, was at 8 percent in the latest poll, down from 23 percent in October.

The new poll of 401 likely Republican caucusgoers has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.

New Iowa Poll Has Gingrich Leading Over Paul Then Romney in 3-Way Race

A new poll released by the Des Moines Register Saturday has former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich taking a palpable lead in support from Iowa Republican caucusgoers, followed by Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in a three-candidate race. With Iowa kicking off voting in the presidential nominating process just a month away on January 3, Gingrich has support from 25 percent of likely Republican caucusgoers in the Hawkeye state.

Paul has risen to second with 18 percent and Romeny slipped to third with 16 percent. Undecided came in fourth place with 11 percent.

Selzer & Co. of Des Moines conducted the poll of 401 likely Republican caucusgoers between November 27 and 30. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points. The poll was conducted before Georgia businessman Herman Cain suspended his candidacy on Saturday. Cain amassed 8 percent, tied with Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. The same Iowa poll conducted between October 23 and 26 had Cain at 23 percent support and Gingrich at only 7

  1. Good Morning to all my Favorite American Patriots and Friends ;)

  2. The Republican Party still insists on being “The Nice Guys” by campaigning against America instead of Obama. Gen. Colin Powell told Sen. Clinton and Sen. McCain to stop attacking Obama’s background in 2008 concerning his ties with Wright, Ayers and Muslims. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27265369/ns/meet_the_press/t/powell-endorses-obama-president/ With help from the George Soros / Jeff Immelt Media it still continues today and will guarantee Obama’s re-election.

Four years ago before Pelosi & Reid took over there was nothing wrong with America.

Mr. Nice Guy didn’t work in 2008 and won’t work in 2012 I fear.

  3. Ron Paul could just surprise us all just as Newt has. It is way too early to know how this will all wash out.

  4. What worries me is that if Paul doesn’t win the primary he may run as a third party candidate.
He has already floated that possibility.
I fear that that would almost guarantee Obama’s re-election.
Ross Perot tried that and that’s how we got Bill Clinton.

  7. Good evening all.

Indeed it appears as the business as usual politicians of both the left and right wing establishment has thrown a wrench into the plans of the American people.

When are Conservatives going to start getting rough?

  9. Top Adviser Says Cain Will Most Likely Endorse Newt Gingrich

Since announcing Saturday that he would bow out as a candidate but still remain active in the Republican primary race for president, there has been much speculation about who Herman Cain will endorse among his former rivals. POLITICO reports Sunday that a top adviser has said that his boss plans to endorse surging Newt Gingrich:

“’He wants to play ‘who to endorse’ for a while,’ said the adviser, who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to speak bluntly. ‘Then he’ll probably be endorsing somebody in a couple weeks — before the caucuses…. I‘d say he’s going to endorse Newt Gingrich,’ the adviser said.”
