Barney Frank to Announce He Won’t Seek Re-Election
The Fat Cat Big Shot who brought us the Housing Market Bubble and the worst Financial Disaster since the Great Depression is calling it Quits!
Longtime Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., will announce Monday he is not seeking re-election, holding an afternoon press conference in Newton, Mass., to offer details behind his decision.
The 16-term lawmaker, whose name is emblazoned on the banking reform law that passed Congress last year, had long been rumored to be ready for retirement. He was previously chairman of the House Financial Services Committee but is now ranking member since Democrats lost the majority in the 2010 midterm election.
The Dodd-Frank law, a contentious set of provisions that Republicans say add layers of regulatory burdens without preventing potential future meltdowns, was made in response to the near collapse of the banking industry in 2008. Among other actions, it created a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to oversee access to banking products and required listing ratios of executive pay to median employee salaries.

We are painfully aware of that my friend but the topic of this post is Barney Frank and his announcement of Retirement. Glad you could stop by and bring this to our attention however you failed to respond to the topic of this post and that is Barney Franks role in bringing about the Housing Crisis and Financial Collapse of 2008 after Repeated Warnings from Republicans on the matter.

Barney Frank did not bring about the housing crisis. You really think he has the power with a statement to bring about this kind of devistation? It was brought about by deregulation, securitization and derivatives. I worked in subprime mortgage from 2005-2007 and the liar’s loans were not backed by fannie and freddie, so in 2001 they seemed to be sound. Thanks to deregulation beginning with the Reagan administration to Bush to Clinton to W, and the rise of deritives, banks were giving loans they knew would fail because they could make more money in the derivative market. Try getting some info from somewhere besides fox news.
You are right on the money Marlene. Barney Frank could not bring about the Housing Crisis all by himself and with one statement. It took the combined force of the entire Liberal Democrats in the house and Senate who refused to listen to the Conservative Republican Warnings beginning back in 2001 as the Fox News Report shows. Unfortunately only Fox News carried the story as your Liberal Networks refuse to carry any story that might put a Democrat or Democrats in a bad light. Say it isn’t so!
I am curious as to why you were only in the Mortgage Business from 2005-2007, and how did you become such an expert in only two short years?
